Easy to learn and use (without special training).
The equipment makes no noise and is light-weight.
Heat is transferred by contact, in contrast to hot air.
Can be used in direct proximity to heat sensitive parts (e.g. cable, textiles ...).
Thin parts and plates can be welded. More precise than hot air welding.
Problematic plastics with water-absorbing characteristics can be welded more easily
(e.g. ABS, PC, PA). Low capacity necessary (only 75 W). Even foamed plastic can be welded.
